Pathfinder Society Play Restarting @ Organized Play! Thursday, August 19, 7 p.m.

Well, yeah… pretty much the headline! We’ve got a DM who’s ready and willing to get Pathfinder Society play up and rolling again at OP for gameplay every Thursday at 7 p.m. Pathfinder Society is a persistent campaign – much like Living Forgotten Realms – where the character that you make can be taken to any table in the world that plays the campaign! One of the awesome ideas behind Society is the faction system – you’ll enroll your character in one of several different factions and work on side missions throughout the adventures to accomplish individual goals. Play for PFS will continue every Thursday at 7 p.m. – if you’re interested but haven’t played Pathfinder before, that’s fine – just come out around 30 minutes early and we’ll get a character going for you!

XRoads I – Knoxville’s First Battletech Con – Now With Actual Details, and an Extra Day!

We’ve finished up the programming and scenario work for XRoads I, and I’ve got to admit, I’m really excited about what our facilitator team (Brandy, Dale and Exodus Road President James Herbert) have come up with! Instead of just one day – September 18 – we’re expanding it to TWO days with different themes for each day. We’ll have tons of Exodus Road Hobbies merch on hand for everyone who needs a Battletech fix, and players both new and old are welcomed! While each day is a single scenario, the facilitators can handle multiple tables – so don’t worry about not having a spot.

If you’re coming from out of town, feel free to call down to the store for hotel / restaurant recommendations! Full programming list below the cut!

New Rules for Season 2 of D&D Encounters: Dark Sun! MAKE YOUR OWN CHARACTER!

Now that the Dark Sun Campaign Guide has hit (our) shelves, there’s new rules for the D&D Encounters season! Now, no longer must you wrestle with such questions as, “Why does Jarvix have a 10 constitution?” and “Why in the world did they make him take Ritual Caster?” Now, you can simply make your own mistakes! (just kidding)

Here’s the guidelines:

# No divine character classes or options
# No material from the Forgotten Realms® Player’s Guide or the Eberron® Player’s Guide
# Allowed character races are dragonborn, dwarf, eladrin, elf, half-elf, halfling, human, tiefling (PH1); goliath (PH2); minotaur (PH3); mul, thri-kreen (DSCS)
# Pick a character theme from the Dark Sun Campaign Setting
# Characters start at 3rd level with 620 gold to purchase equipment and receive their choice of a +1 magic weapon, +1 magic implement, +1 magic armor, or a +1 amulet of protection

Remember, we play every Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. – come on down tonight!

Author Signing @ Organized Play – Friday, 6 p.m., 8/13/10! – Rodney Thompson

Sorry for the short notice, but I *just* got off the phone regarding this! Rodney Thompson, an East Tennessee native and one of the three primary credited authors on the newly released Dark Sun Campaign Setting – in addition to being the first-named author behind all the Star Wars Saga Edition sourcebooks – will be visiting Organized Play at 6 p.m. this coming Friday!

Thompson’s professional vitae includes not only the DSCS and Star Wars, but also numerous credits for Green Ronin Publishing. He’s currently a developer for Dungeons & Dragons, which means he’s not only involved in the writing of the books, he’s an integral part of their ongoing design and development! He’ll be available both for book signing – a great opportunity to get your new copy of the Dark Sun Campaign Setting signed! – and for fielding questions about the Dungeons & Dragons product line. Best of all… it’s absolutely free!

New Comics Wednesday – 8/11/10

HUGE week for DC comics, in particular the Brightest Day affiliated titles! This week, we’ve got new releases for Birds of Prey, Zatanna, JLA: Generation Lost and the first issue of the Guy Gardner – centered new Lantern series, Emerald Warriors! In addition to the usual fare in those titles, we’ll also have the special 1:10 variant covers for each of those four series available for $10!

This also marks the first week for the Dungeons & Dragons ongoing comic, which we’ve got a special promotion for… which I’ll talk about in, like, another post. :)
