Because of the Labor Day Holiday, comics for next week won’t arrive until Thursday, Sept. 9. Just thought I’d give a head’s up.

New Comics Wednesday – 9/1/10
Bringing in some more cool stuff this week! We’ve got all of the NON Season 8 Buffy trade paperbacks incoming, as well as the new BTVS Season 8 restart with number 36! It’s been a four long Buffyless months, and I’m sure there’s a number of folks out there who are eager to see Season 8 get back on track!
This week’s biggest release, though, is Wolverine #1! This is the first time in a while that Wolverine’s had his own, dedicated ongoing series that’s really just about him in the present day, and not discussing the Weapon X program or his origins… so it’s pretty exciting! Happily for three-clawed fans, this is the only currently ongoing series for him, so you can hop on board without missing anything!

Labor Day Weekend Hours – CLOSED Sunday!
We’ll have some adjusted hours this coming weekend due to both Labor Day and Dragon*Con (where, I anticipate, 75 percent of my customers will be!) We’ll be open from 12 to 8 p.m. on Saturday, and closed on Sunday.
New Comics – 8/25/10
Another week of three Brightest Day crossovers, including two of my favorites – JLA: Generation Lost and Green Arrow! We’ve also got a herd of cool Marvel stuff, including Avengers #4 and two of the crossovers in the X-titles’ Vampire storyline (including one with Gambit!) In addition, we’re getting a few copies of the second printing of Bendis’ Scarlet, which sold out in a hustle during its first go-round… it’s got some of the most biting and edgy dialogue (or, as would be more apropos, self-dialogue…) I’ve seen in a Big Two comic for a while.

Sunday Board Gaming – Twilight Imperium!
We’ve usually had a few board gamers in on Sundays, and we’re going to try to get a steadier crowd out here for a new Sunday Board Game Day! At 2 p.m., Sean McKenna’s going to be hosting a round of Twilight Imperium, the massive space-civ game by Fantasy Flight. If you’ve ever been curious about what that huge box across from the D&D books contains… well, come down and check it out!
Pathfinder Society Play Restarting @ Organized Play! Thursday, August 19, 7 p.m.
Well, yeah… pretty much the headline! We’ve got a DM who’s ready and willing to get Pathfinder Society play up and rolling again at OP for gameplay every Thursday at 7 p.m. Pathfinder Society is a persistent campaign – much like Living Forgotten Realms – where the character that you make can be taken to any table in the world that plays the campaign! One of the awesome ideas behind Society is the faction system – you’ll enroll your character in one of several different factions and work on side missions throughout the adventures to accomplish individual goals. Play for PFS will continue every Thursday at 7 p.m. – if you’re interested but haven’t played Pathfinder before, that’s fine – just come out around 30 minutes early and we’ll get a character going for you!
